In this enjoyable tribute to pulpy horror movies of the 1950s, you play a monstrous mutant running amok. The installation file size dwarfs any basic game, but the gameplay justifies the load. I Was an Atomic Mutant lets you choose among four creatures as your alter ego, each of which has two ways to kill. You can set the controls to joystick, keyboard-only, or keyboard and mouse. Each time you select a level, it takes a couple of minutes while the mutation is underway. You come to in a desert, with a small village ahead of you. There, a tank and a battalion of soldiers will shoot at you, and you must fight back. Destroying the planes in the air is more of a challenge. Gamers with a high-speed Internet connection or a lot of patience, as well as a taste for camp, should enjoy this action title.
