Google Deskbar enables you to search with Google from any application without lifting your fingers from the keyboard. Preview search results in a small inset window that closes automatically. The program installs easily in your Windows taskbar.

Note: Access Google from any application by typing Ctrl+Alt+G and use keyboard shortcuts for multiple Google searches--for example, Google News (Ctrl+N) or Google Images (Ctrl+I).

After using this resourceful minibrowser, you may wonder how you ever lived without it. Google Deskbar lets you search from your desktop with or without an actual browser. It fits snugly in your system tray. It features a small search bar and a drop-down menu that give you all the same search options found on the original Google page. The menu comes preloaded with links that connect you to movie reviews, a thesaurus, and even stock quotes. What's more, you can add your own frequently searched sites to the deskbar menu and even assign them a shortcut. The extensive options menu lets you easily change the appearance of the miniviewer, including the font size and the size of the screen. The miniviewer looks and acts just like a regular browser with standard navigational buttons. If a particular search interests you, clicking on the left corner of the miniviewer will open the page in your browser. With all the available options and versatility, we're hard-pressed to find anything bad to say about it. Anyone looking to enhance their searches will welcome this free add-on to their desktop.

  Pros: you can even configure it to search within GDS (Google Desktop Search) too! Most importantly, the Google logo means more than you think. Search technology is very complicated, Google is very clean, organised, and safe. Google's mission is to organize all the worlds information and make it univerasally accessible and useful. This means a lot more than you can imagine, and it will take an estimated 300 years. There has been conspiracy about Googles power and security in their terms or service. Their terms of service are more trustworthy than other companies. Unlike companies like Microsoft and AIM, Google offers free and easy customer support in their help pages where you can even contact Google and get a personal response. Google is safe and reliable. Why should you care about Google? Because Google can change the way you live your daily life. Google is an important step in technology. Google already has many more services that search like blogger.com, Google Earth, Maps, Picasa, Hello, Desktop Search, Groups, Froogle and much more. People that work for big software companies like Microsoft are now running to work at the amazing Google! Google products are preferable over any other product in the world. I choose Google because I know it will make a difference.

  Wonderful Idea

  Pros: I can type in the name of a used book or any item I am consedering buying like on Amazon or Ebay, to see a review or to search any subject. And not worry about it closing the important auction page I have running. This Google search does not take up valauable Monitor space.

  Cons: To see full size you have to open to a internet page.
