GoFTP is a FTP client that uses special "buffer overstuffing" technology and on-the-fly compression to achieve speeds 3x of other multi-threaded FTP programs. It supports encryption including SFTP and FTPS. It is very easy to use and has all the features. Except for corporations of 50 or more employees GoFTP is completely sufficient.

Version 2.1.87 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

  Nice FTP Program

  Pros: Easy to install and easy to uninstall. No problem or error found with this software. Fast and certain uploads and downloads. Nice grafical user interface. I did not have to change settings, so I do not know if this influence the working of GoFTP, but GoFTP seems to me stable. GoFTP is the only free FTP program for Windows Vista.

  Cons: When you open GoFTP the local files frame shows the default folder and not the folder you last opened, but more FTP programs have this shortcoming.

  BEWARE - USE AT YOUR PERIL

  Pros: Nice interface.

  Cons: Their site states "The free version is fully functional and there are NO nag screens". What they don't tell you is that it adds 'almost hidden' links to ALL HTML files. What these links do and where they go to is open to question. These links could go anywhere and so how does the user know what else the sneaky little program does? This is unacceptable!

  Is the paid-for product free of this nastiness? How does anyone know?

  I wouldn't risk anything from an organisation that acts so surreptitiously.

  DO NOT USE IT!

  In any case their claim to fast speeds is also flawed in my opinion as the technology used takes more up-front processing before the transmission takes place.

  Installs Ads included in transferred files!

  Pros: fast

  Cons: The software installs ads in every php and html file transferred with this. This could be considered Adware and definetly not free.

  sneaky bottom links

  Pros: I just love the GOFTP program, its fast, user friendly and it tells you the % of the uploaded files. Also you can upload automatic. or binary very cool

  Cons: BUT.......THOSE SNEAKY LITTLE LINKS THEY PUT AT THE BOTTOM OF EVERY PAGE.....

  I UPLOADED A SHOPPING CART SITE AND NOW I HAVE TO REUPLOAD EVERY SINGLE PHP, HTML PAGE ON THE SITE.................................

  I WISH THEY WOULD OF TOLD ME ABOUT THIS I WOULD OF BOUGHT THE FULL VERSION RIGHT OFF THE BAT

  THEY NOT ONLY PUT THEIR LINKS AT THE BOTTOM BUT LINKS FROM SEARCH ENGINES............................ VERY VERY SNEAKY....WHAT ELSE ARE THEY HIDING FROM US!!!!!!!!

  Pros: Do not download or use this software.

  Cons: This software adds hidden ads to the bottom of all your html files, without warning you! I'm pretty sure this isn't legal at all. This software should be removed from Download.com
