Publisher's description of Gmaps Pedometer
From SueandPaul:Gmaps Pedometer is a little hack that uses Google's superb mapping application to help record distances traveled during a running or walking work-out. It lets you know the exact distance a certain course is, without having to drag a GPS or pedometer around. Note that you have to choose all the points in your route individually yourself.

Version: Gmaps Pedometer
"An OK product, if a little rough around the edges."
Pros: It provides a good check on my step counter. It's accurate as to it's mileage calculations. I've checked it using my car, and it matches up very well. You can use it with both the map and the satellite map displays, as well as the hybrid mode.
Cons: Doesn't have any instructions on how to use it. And it frequently locks up and refuses to accept new data points.
