Now a darker shadow has fallen over the world, threatening to extinguish all life, all hope. Perfect RTS with friendly multiplayer
We have a hard time thinking of anything negative to say about Warcraft III, a landmark in the real-time-strategy genre. As in most such games, your primary tasks are to build up your base, harvest resources, train units, and attack the enemy. You can now play for four races instead of two, each with characteristic strengths. In addition to traditional units, you can buy heroes, who gain experience for battling foes and level up to gain spells. A paladin hero, for instance, can heal human units and even resurrect them at higher levels. The single-player mode offers an engaging series of quests that will delight RPG fans. The detailed unit models, the colorful terrain, and the gorgeous special effects are all top-notch. We love the exceptionally user-friendly multiplayer mode, too. The demo offers three single-player missions and one multiplayer map. Even at 98MB, it's a must-download for any fantasy or RTS buff.
