Tidy Mail may look ancient, but the small freeware application can oust extra spaces and '>' characters from your e-mail almost faster than you can paste the offending text in. Just copy the text, usually a muddle e-mail forward, and paste it into the application using hot keys or by pressing the 'Paste' button. Then click 'Tidy' to remove all '>' characters, extra line spacing, and superfluous tabs and spaces. There's another button to copy the text back to the Clipboard for future pasting. Tidy Mail leaves all hyperlinks, but unfortunately does not wipe out extra characters such as '#' and '!'. We'd also like to see an 'Undo' button and a browser component that lets you eliminate extra characters from your Webmail without manually transferring the text.

Developer's Description

Remove unwanted indention and greater-than characters from your e-mail messages.
Remove messy greater-than (">") characters from your email messages with a few simple mouse clicks. Strips unwanted indentation as well, leaving you with a clean email message. The message ">" characters can often be generated in email messages when users reply, quoting the source message text. After several replies, the result and be almost unreadable. Gaia Tidy Mail to the rescue.
