just so-so...
Cons: It's OK if your image doesn't have mixed text and graphics, otherwise you have lots of headaches, the free version doesn't support zoning, or PDF output, or HTML output, it doesn't offer any advanced image processing filters, nor does it have error/spell correction, and if you want to have a language other than english you need to find, download and install yourself the proper language files. It's just a simple GUI on a free Software OCR engine, but worth the price :)

Pros: It was able to extract text from a jpg image when two other ocr programs I have could not. No brainer to use as well.

THIS PROGRAM SUCKS %$@#!
Pros: NOTHING.... DOES NOT WORK!!! I had a simple scanned image that I could ready clearly, but the OCR program could not read ONE (1) word.

Pros: Easy-to-use software that reads most characters. Not bad at all for free software.
Cons: It will take you quite some extra time to correct the scanned document since FreeOCR1 can't read characters like -�- or quotation marks. Moreover, he reads l [el] more often as I [ai] than reading it correctly. But maybe the Dutch version is just not optimized yet...
