  just so-so...

  Cons: It's OK if your image doesn't have mixed text and graphics, otherwise you have lots of headaches, the free version doesn't support zoning, or PDF output, or HTML output, it doesn't offer any advanced image processing filters, nor does it have error/spell correction, and if you want to have a language other than english you need to find, download and install yourself the proper language files. It's just a simple GUI on a free Software OCR engine, but worth the price :)

  Pros: It was free and did exactly what i wanted. Would not open PDF files but it TIFF worked fine.

  Pros: a superb piece of easy to understand software, it didn't recognise all the words but its as good as the expensive OCR programs

  Do not waste your time here if your document lots of words

  Pros: Converted much of the text correctly

  Cons: The softare could not inteprete some words. For example, "Assessment" became "Assmssmcntc" and "effective" became "cffccttivcâ??". Even "the" became "thé" in parts of the document. Most importantly, it could not recognise pictures imbedded in the document.

  Do not waste your time here if your document lots of words

  My God, it really works - free of cost, and with so little effort to understand!

  Pros: It is really very very easy to understand, and to use. For printed scanned words, I found accuracy of around 98 percent! All OCR software requires human correction for the optically-recognized text, so you at present can never hope for 100% accuracy. For better accuracy, I offer the following advice: (i) Don't scan using FreeOCR, scan using your scanner-operating software (ii) scan there not as colored picture, but as black-and-white text (or B-W picture) (iii) open the scanner-scanned .jpg file with FreeOCR, and convert. Thanks a lot, Softi Software!
