Publisher's description of FlashCard Magic (Home Edition)

From Caviar Software:

Focusing on learning rather than entertainment, FlashCard Magic (Home Edition) helps kids master their basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in as little as 10 minutes per day. FlashCard Magic (Home Edition) automatically keeps track of which math facts are answered incorrectly, repeats those facts more often, and reviews previously mastered levels to increase long-term memory retention. Students advance only when ready. It's like having a private tutor at home. FlashCard Magic (Home Edition) includes a training video to get up and running quickly, on-screen, printable report card, and progress charts.

Version 4.5 support for recent security changes from Microsoft. Also Home Edition was added to title because Caviar Software also offers an Enterprise School Edition.

This application helps kids hone basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills using a simple, easy-to-follow format. The installation package is larger than you'd expect, though it consumes little system memory. The interface is straightforward, though its design isn't particularly appealing. After a kid creates a student profile and inputs her or his name, the program will administer a placement quiz to see how knowledgeable she or he is, though parents also can choose tests manually at any time. FlashCard Magic makes students answer a certain number of questions within a specified period of time. Onscreen graphs display the percent of correct answers and of questions remaining, and you'll find a tool for tracking your child's progress. Apart from that, though, you won't really find any notable customization options. All things considered, we think FlashCard Magic makes a decent virtual math tutor.
