From Filehunter Software:Filehunter can search for text and find missing files. It supports fast searching of files, uses delimiters to separate file extensions in a long list, excludes file extensions, finds folders, uses Boolean and/or in text string searches, and finds filename duplicates. The program can use multiple filenames and multiple extensions in strings with delimiters. Now the program searches ZIP files and lists individual files in the ZIP file. It can search up to 90 different multiple search strings in one run and searches Windows special folders. You can search within search results, use regular expressions, load, and save searches, print search results, view occurrences of matching strings inside files and copy search result folders with existing paths to new locations. Excel and Word files can be searched. New version renames filenames in search results.

Though it offers a slight improvement to the built-in Windows file-search tool, Filehunter's busy interface won't appeal to most users. Its rather bland-looking, tabbed interface filled with buttons and boxes in differing sizes definitely won't win any beauty contests. All these interface details reflect the application's ability to locate files and folders in many ways. For instance, you can filter searches using file masks, and you can add other file types that are not included in the list. You can search by data, size, and attributes, or search by keywords or phrases. The program features the use of regular expressions, but novices should first learn how to use this kind of expression. In our tests, the program worked fine, but it slowed down while searching large directories. We also appreciate its ability to search within archives. The program can search for files in a LAN, and in our tests it was successful in doing so. Despite its unattractive structure, this program delivers just enough power to enhance your file-searching tasks.
