You can freely use, copy, modify, and re-distribute FET software. It is localized to English, Arabic, Catalan, German, Greek, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Macedonian, Malay, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, and Turkish. Fully automatic generation algorithm, allowing also semi-automatic or manual allocation. Platform independent implementation, allowing running on GNU/Linux, Windows, and Mac. Flexible modular XML format for the input file, allowing editing with an XML editor or by hand (besides FET). Available constraints are able to satisfy needs of a large range of schools. FET is a growing project: the author often releases a new version.

Version 5.6 adds import/export CSV (text with comma separated values) filters; constraint min gaps between activities; activity dialog, checking/unchecking show years/groups/subgroups does not erase inserted sets; and Romanian help for export/import.
