This utility creates toolbars for Internet Explorer from HTML pages. Explorer Toolbar Maker sounds great, but it only takes care of some of the programming necessary for building a toolbar. You still need solid knowledge of HTML and JavaScript. The manual, although extensive, is written for programmers. If you want to set up your toolbar on other PCs, you have to create the installation packages manually. Also, Explorer Toolbar Maker doesn't let you add more than one toolbar to the browser. Newbies will likely shy away from the overt geekiness of the interface, but advanced users who want to do some serious browser customization could find this tool quite useful.

Version: Explorer Toolbar Maker 3.01

"Opens up whole new browsing experience"

Pros: This little app lets the user create custom toolbar for Iternet Explorer from HTML/JavaScript pages. With the knowledge of JavaScript user can create really interesting toolbars.

Cons: Even the help manual is huge, its incomplete. Needs a little bit more explaining for novice users.

Version: Explorer Toolbar Maker 3.01

"Uses DEP to try to comprise your security"

Pros: nothing whatsoever

Cons: This program does sneaky stuff during install, and runs only right in an insecure setup. I'm not trusting it to run!

Summary: This program used an exploit to try to modify my security settings but data execution prevention stopped it. Then I force stopped the install and it still wanted to remain. The website says if that happens remove protected mode from IE ... haha! WHY... read more >>
