Publisher's description of Escape Velocity: Nova

From Ambrosia Software: With an open-ended plotline, you call the shots as to how your game will progress. You can beef up your ship and hire fighter escorts, or you can begin a career in trading with your fleet peacefully roaming the galaxy looking for great buys and running trade routes for credits. Several huge plotlines within the game take you to the edge of the universe or have you joining the Federation in its fight against the invading Aurorans. This update provides changes to the game engine and to specific scenarios in order to improve performance and reliability.

  Very involved, good game. I find myself playing this game when i'm bored.

  Pros: -Various activities you can do.

  -Humongous universe

  -Multiple governments

  -Shareware didn't restrict too much gameplay controls, if any.

  Cons: Can't think of any.

  Lots of busy work to progress to a playable level

  Pros: It occasionally becomes interesting to find something new to do. If there were more pleasant surprises, it would be worth more.

  Cons: This is not a $30 game. The ability to save where you are is non-existent. I played for hours and hours before being able to progress to a level where I could compete with the computer. After the thirty day trial, I still didn't know many of the features because of the lack of a help section. Tons of time-consuming busy-work assignments before anything really engaging happens.
