Publisher's description of Elasto Mania

This is a motorbike simulator arcade game. Your goal is to collect different objects in this 18-level game as you race through a variety of dangers and pitfalls. You can race against the clock or against someone else in the multiplayer mode. In addition to the built-in levels that come with the game, you can make your own levels with the integrated editor. You can also download from the game's Web site any one of the hundreds of different game levels, which were created by players all over the world.

Note: The shareware version only features 18 levels while the registered version has 52 levels.

• "Apples and motorcycles"

Elasto Mania purports to be a motorbike simulator arcade game. The arcade qualities are immediately evident, as low-resolution graphics suggest a release date circa 1986. The controls are simple to learn, yet difficult to master. Four arrow keys accelerate, brake, lean forward, and lean backward, while the spacebar switches the biker's direction in a 2D universe.

The simulation aspects of the game become clearer once you actually try to ride the bike. Because the back wheel is attached by an elastic band, the physical effects on the motorcycle are dramatic. Accelerate too fast and you'll flip backward. Brake too quickly and you'll fall forward. This elastic twist makes it quite difficult to collect apples, avoid obstacles, and reach the white flower in the fastest time possible, but a few minutes on Warm Up will have most gamers competent enough to enjoy the game. And at 2 in the morning, as you try to get past the Loop-de-Loop for the 56th time, you'll realize all too well the addictive nature of the Elasto Mania gameplay. A global community of rabid fans has created tons of new levels and graphics for gamers who register for the full version.

  "Great way to waste 30 minutes"

  Pros: I really enjoy this, I got into this game when somebody downloaded it onto the school hardrive. It has fun physics, and a very easy control setup. This is the perfect game to kill some time between classes (or during). My favorite part is the big half-pipe. Usually I'll just mess around here. I recommend this game for anybody, even if you're not into the whole motorcycle scene.

  Cons: This game isn't going to hold your attention for too long. The only thing I don't like about the game is the awkward level creator. You have to work on a level long past boredom or frustration sets in before you can get something entertaining. I prefer to stick to the levels that come with the package.

  "This game sucked"

  Pros: uhh, nothing

  Cons: to be honest, it seemed like a entry level developer made this game! the controls are horrible, the sheer fact that they want money for it is dreadful, and i have downloaded a game just like this in the past and it was 300 times better.
