This toolbox does a good job of directing your tweaks to all the hidden nooks and crannies of Vista.
Easy Vista Manager launches a well-organized, tastefully designed interface that's easy to navigate with dropdown menus for each tweaking category: Information, Hardware, Software, Network, Security, and Windows. The Help feature is also well-organized and full of useful guidance.
This package performed well in our tests. We liked that it suggested creating a Restore Point with its first launch (although, for some reason, it was unable to create one automatically), which suggests a cautious approach toward tweaking a system. Each of its categories displayed a wealth of detail about our system and pointed to many areas for tweaking that we wouldn't normally consider, such as adjusting the mouse's double-click sensitivity, increasing the USB polling interval to encourage easier power-saving launches, and launching each Internet Explorer instance with a separate process to prevent a crash in one window from affecting another. Of course, applying some of these tweaks requires a reboot, which always slows down work, but the long-term benefits outweigh the immediate inconvenience.
Any user will appreciate the thorough examination of Vista that Easy Vista Manager provides. The trial limit may seem stingy for those users who like to get under the hoods of their systems on a regular basis, but should be adequate for most users. This toolbox is worth trying for any user interested in getting the most from Vista.
