Easy Video Capture is a tool for recording your screen activities into AVI video in real time. It supports recording video, audio, and the mouse cursor. You can use it to record DVD, RM, VCD, or other video media into AVI format. You also can use it to make a slide-show training video. You may change the options for recording, add text to video, record video with audio, choose to record the mouse cursor (or not), and make the area border blink when you're recording.

Version 1.3 may feature enhancements, improvements, or bug fixes.

This program makes capturing screenshots of PC activities a hassle-free affair, although it has a few shortcomings. Easy Video Capture's main window isn't tough to comprehend, and we appreciate that basic recording functions can be performed via hot keys. Still, we wished the program could record clips in a format other than AVI. You can not only set audio and video quality, you also can decide what area of the screen you want to capture and then disable the cursor from appearing in your clip. The full version lets you annotate your clips with captions, although the trial version won't let you access that feature. If you're using an older computer, be forewarned that Easy Video Capture may take a toll on your PC's performance, though we had no problems when using a standard machine. Desktop-support specialists and computer instructors will like this program's no-nonsense approach.

"Good with video, bad with audio."

Pros: Very easy to use. Adjustable capture and frame rates good.

Cons: Didn't capture a darn bit of audio.

"THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE IN JAIL!"

Pros: NONE! I PURCHASED IT ON DISC AND IT WONT RECORD ANYTHING. AUDIO OR VIDEO! I BET I HAVE SPENT 30 HOURS TRYING TO MAKE IT WORK, CUSTOMER SUPPORT NO WHERE! WHEN I ASKED FOR A REFUND I GOT AN EMAIL IN BROKEN ENGLISH SAYING "SORRY, NO REFUNDS" UR SCREWED!

"works, but need sound"

Pros: no problems with it, my pc didn't have any performance issues, pic was clear and easy to use.

Cons: wish this would record sound.

"Not immediately useful"

Pros: Free to try and quick to download.

Cons: I couldn't get it to work. With me it failed to capture the screen. I tried a few things. Perhaps it can be made to work (some clearly have done so) but I need something I can just "plug and play."
