Editor's review of Easy RM to MP3 Converter

We were feeling pretty good about Easy RM to MP3 Converter until we heard what it did to our test file. Starting a conversion from RealMedia to MP3 could hardly be easier. The straightforward, though unattractive, drag-and-drop application window offers only three options: Load, Batch, and Convert. For some reason, the Batch window contains all the options for MP3 conversion, including variable-bit-rate recording, stereo settings, and a quality slider. The conversion itself went quickly, but somewhere along the way our half-minute RealMedia file got trimmed to 10 seconds. Possibly this is a limitation of the trial version, but we found no information to confirm this. Anyway, we can't vouch for the quality of this program's output. If you're looking for a bridge between the Net and your MP3 player, try other, more full-featured utilities alongside Easy RM to MP3 Converter.

  Easy RM to MP3 Converter

  Great program to convert your RM files to MP3s

  Pros: I don't know what happened with the editor in his experience with this program, but it worked great for me. I downloaded some RM files, and this program easily converted them to MP3s. The quality of the files is great, and I had no problems in the conversion process. Considering that the only limitation is the 30 day trial (which is more than enough), this is a great program. It does what it says.

  Cons: After about my 3rd conversion, a nag screen popped up. No big deal. Just click cancel.

  Cute program

  Pros: It does whatever it promises. It converts all real audio files, i tried more than 20 and didn't occur any problem. Also it converst 100% of the file, not only half part as editors' opinion.

  Cons: But a nag window appears often to enter the registeration number.

  ONly converts 31 minutes 12 seconds

  Pros: Very easy to use. No downloading messy codecs.

  Cons: Although the trial states 30 days unlimited, it only converted 31 minutes and 12 seconds, then stops and askes for reg code.

  Pros: This software doesn't give you the advertised 30 day trial period. It blocks your ripping halfway through the process and asks you for a registration number on the very first trial. Beware!
