Eset NOD32's latest version is sleek and recommended. The company currently provides a 30-day, full-featured trial, with no third-party toolbars added on nor other strings attached.

Installation is clean and straightforward. So is the interface, which has improved greatly from its humble beginnings as separate scanners that once littered the desktop. Combined into one interface, NOD32 can be toggled between standard features and more advanced features. Although our scans were a little on the slow side, system-resource use was low, and the results good. NOD32 has consistently scored near the top of several independent antivirus testing organization ratings for finding the most malware.

Should you decide to uninstall, there is an uninstall option. However, upon reboot, we found residual system files and Registry settings that have to be deleted by hand.

  Pros: NOD32 Antivirus is the best you can get. No other software has received so many Virus Bulletins awards as NOD32 Antivirus.

  Light on recourses and now with a nice interface.

  The best security you can get!

  Cons: Bad for the competitors!

  overtook kaspersky

  Pros: i removed kaspersky's and i still have 4 months left on the subscription. nod32 runs like an antivirus should. nothing needs to take total control of your computer like the major scam programs pushed off on here as legit. use the trial for nod32 or esets smart security. you'll never switch back. unless you liked your computer running at half speed.

  Cons: not a con, but it runs so quietly in the back ground i have to check to see if it's running.

  Brougtht about the 3 C's of Catastrophe

  Pros: I liked it at first because I thought it was doing a great job until I realized it was was busy id'ing false positives while it was spreading some trojan deal that AVG kept id'ing and making me stop and attend to. It finally got the best of me, infecting so many files that I couldn't keep up with it. Then it did the same thing again with a worm or some wiggly thing. It ate throught my applications and my window systems. AVG could not repair them and I had to throw them out by deleting them. I went throught this for four weeks. Lots of false positives give you an overwhelming false sense of security while it destroys your hard drives.

  Cons: The 3 C's of Catastrophe: It 1.Contaminated my files. Then it 2.Consolidated them into one file after another of unrepairable blends of Trojan /my stuff files and folders. Finally, my system just 3.Crashed.

  You read what I liked about it. What I didn't like about it was, I couldn't uninstall it and all the problems it caused. I didn't want to totally throw away what was left of a year's worth of work so I removed my hard drive, and I spent a hundred bucks on a new hard drive, and started fresh. When I feel confident, (or over the trauma) I will try to access one frame of my video and one bar of my composition at a time, and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else because it's heartbreaking. (You know, as far as computer let downs go it is. But as far as life goes, it's not so bad.)

  GREAT STUFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Pros: I did have NOD installed in the past but i had some problems with the local server affecting the updates. But i can't blame NOD for that. In the meantime i had AVG free version installed which is the best freebie out there, but there is something missing with the freebies. So NOD IS BACK and i am a happy chappy! Within half an hour it had picked up Win32/ adware so goes to prove it does its job.The great thing about Nod is the fact it does everything for you and just gives you a little pop up note telling you what has been detected etc.

  Great improvements have made made in this newer version and its so light on your cpu which is a great bonus.

  Cons: I can only get a yearly license at a time . How about offering a license for 2 years? (maybe thats just the case for Asia)

  I still haven't seen an improvement, but...

  Pros: The GUI has changed, for good...? The scan speed has been lowered comparing to the old NOD versions, but the detection rate is at the same height. The anti-spyware and adware module is here, included in the antivirus protection but as I use Spyware Doctor for these still haven't seen a NOD detection of. Overall, still a great antivirus which concerning AV protection seems to be the best in the world.

  Cons: The price of the license is a little high and compared amongst different countries may vary to much. I live in Croatia and for my income is not even an average price for an AV application, but considered it is NOD... Well, think it up or buy McAfee and Spyware Emergency as second protection.
