Dr. DivX is an all-in-one video creation package that lets anyone create DivX video from any source in 3 steps. Dr. DivX accepts video input from a variety of sources including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DV, AVI, WMV, AVS and live capture from a capture card or a Webcam, and quickly converts these files into highly compressed DivX video. Dr. DivX includes the DivX Player.

Version 1.0.6 includes DivX codec 5.2, surround sound AC-3 audio, High Definition transport stream encoding.

"takes a lots of time"

Pros: quality is not very good, but will do!

Cons: Sound quality is bad. Download it only if you have a P4 2.8Ghz or above processor! Encoding is damn slow, it gets on nerves. Fast encoders are available, "Ashampoo movie shrink and burn" is damn fast, but video quality is not as good as this one.

"Works Great!"

Pros: Everything about this program is great. I honestly have no idea what some of those are reviewers are complaining about. There is crazy coding that takes over your computer or anything like that. It's great for making copies of dvds to put on a cd. All you need is another program called dvd decryptor to copy the dvd to you computer and then you open up Dr. Divx and it does the rest. Seriously very easy software to operate. Highly recommend.

Cons: Nothing.

"Very effective.... and gives a descent outcome of time"

Pros: Its simple to use, works fine with mpeg and vob files, takes the usual time but does good work in conversion...

Cons: ...Vulnerable to crashes if file format isn't supported.

"very good in capturing and converting"

Pros: I used it for capturing video using my satellite card in divx ,converting mpg to avi, and it works fine , a good quality and size.

"A good but misleading software!"

Summary: I compressed some of my VCDs. It was doing well until i found that, the sound quality was poor. Also, the sound was lagging the video. Its such a frustrating thing that after you are encoding for abot 2 hours to find that its no use. May be good for... read more >>
