Fixes in version 1.2: fixed tooltips on DownShift Browser; fixed Opera click monitoring; improved Firefox/Mozilla click monitoring; fixed a bug that caused a few files to not work right.

Greatly improve downloading files through Internet Explorer with this powerful add-on. DownShift's dialog interfaces vary according to the situation, but all contain simple radio buttons, text boxes, and file tree browsers. The short Help file adequately explains program configuration, options, and operation. Most users will like this program even using the default settings.

DownShift's operation is simple as it replaces the normal Internet Explorer download dialog. Click as usual to download a file and this program's dialog pops up. You're given much more flexibility to place the file. The traditional file tree is supplemented with user-selected Quick Folders to eliminate the need to drill down to specific folders. The program includes a few preset Quick Folders, and you can add your own with only a couple of clicks each. The program adds the ability to restart interrupted downloads. The program's Automatic Mode easily sets your browser to download multiple files at a time. Another very useful feature makes it simple to schedule daily downloads of select Web pages and files.

DownShift simply makes it much easier to control downloading files. The features mentioned and others require little user experience to operate. Frequent Web surfers will find they use many of DownShift's features daily. If you download files off the Web, you should give this app a test.
