Dekart Private Disk is a hard disk encryption software with a unique feature set, combining strong, NIST-certified AES 256-bit encryption with the best tools needed to build a protected infrastructure, where information can be processed in a secure way. Private Disk is compatible with virtually any version of Windows, from the discontinued Windows 95, to the latest 64-bit releases of Windows XP and Windows 2003. Your files and documents are hidden from unwelcome eyes, while Disk Firewall ensures that undetected Trojans, viruses or spyware will not get access to your protected data. Private Disk's mobility allows it to be used in conjunction with a broad range of portable media, for instance USB flash drives, external hard disks, flash memory cards, DVDs, mp3 players or portable media players such as the iPods. Version 2.1 allows to run Private Disk as a system service, added Disk Firewall Program integrity verification feature, added Disk Firewall self Traning Mode, compatibility with Windows Vista and Windows Vista x64, and secure data migration tool added.

  Well thought-out user interface

  Pros: There are several tools out there all doing the same, but I find Dekart has the best user interface between them.

  It also offers a disk firewall which can be used to restrict the access to the virtual drives to some selected programs...
