Pros: none

Cons: If you want to crash and reboot alot, use Dark Basic. This thing crashes when you are just reading the help files.

DarkBASIC

this program is...

by: Linux Master on 14-Apr-2003 03:57:58 AM

This program is really not good. I'm trying to find something positive to say, but I just can't. It makes use of DirectX with an "advanced" basic like language and "interpret" your code, instead of compile it as C/C++ does. The result is what you may think, a slow, unstable program. I've created some executables and gave to some friends of mine to try them out, most of them could not run my programs for unknown bug reasons. The inbuilt editor is awful, you will need to use an external like DarkEDIT. For 70 bucks and we still need to find an external editor is far too expensive. It handles objects very well though ( maybe this is positive to say ) as long as they don't have collision boxes around them. If they do (and mostly they will have collision boxes, unless you wanna pass through your objects), then it will slow everything so much down that you will not be able to play anything. Take a look into their showcase (***** ;).

DarkBASIC

GREAT!

by: greenweed15 on 17-Sep-2007 05:13:01 PM

Pros: i use this in school, we learn how to use all of the software and learn to create everything, and as for the bugs, you need to go back and fix your entry codes or else it will suck, if you know how to use it, i would highly recomend dark basic
