Cute FTP Professional is a powerful FTP client for Windows. It enables you to connect and transfer files securely using SFTP (Secure Shell/SSH), FTPS (Secure Socket Layer (SSL) over FTP) and one-time passwords. You can transfer files quickly using CuteFTP Professional's multipart transfer and simultaneous connections. Easily manage and maintain your Web site with the built-in HTML editor, as well as the Folder Synchronization, Folder Monitor, Site Backup, and Compression tools. Cute FTP Professional also lets you schedule, automate, and prioritize transfers using a transfer queue.

Version 8.2 is a bug fixing release.

Although it may seem complicated at first glance, Cute FTP Professional is actually easy to use. All the buttons, and thus all the functions, are intuitive. The software presents two main windows, one showing your PC contents and the other the remote site. All you have to do to transfer is drag files from one window to another. A log window records all dialogue between your PC and the remote site while a queue window lists the status of the files you're uploading or downloading. To enter FTP commands, you have to open an input box rather than just type them into the log window, a minor drawback. You can compare and synchronize folders, and even customize Cute FTP Professional by attaching scripts to the transfer engine.

To access sites, plug the host, username, and password into the blanks at the top, then save that information into a site-manager profile, if you wish. You also can create profiles directly via the file menu. Cute FTP Professional also comes with a collection of anonymous FTP sites arranged by category and allows you to record macros to Visual Basic scripts. Webmasters seeking a no-hassle FTP application should definitely check out this program.
