This is encryption software for personal and professional security. It allows you to protect the privacy of your sensitive files or messages by encrypting them with up to four strong cryptographic algorithms. Once the information has been encrypted, it can be stored on insecure media or transmitted on an insecure network (like the Internet), and still remain secret. Later, the information can be decrypted into its original form. The file encryption module enables you to encrypt, decrypt, and wipe -with the built-in file shredder- files of any type, as well as entire folders, from within Windows Explorer or My Computer with right-click ease. The text encryption module includes a secure text editor that allows you to create, encrypt, and decrypt documents in a way that they can be sent by any e-mail, messenger, or chat program. Additional features include multiple encryption, filename encryption, cipher speed meter, password cache with timeout, compression, and command line interface.

Despite some minor omissions, this easy-to-use encryption tool boasts a fine set of security features. CryptoForge is conveniently integrated with Windows, encrypting/decrypting files from the right-click menu. It lets users choose from four encryption algorithms and compresses files when it encrypts, not only securing your documents but saving space as well. The program auto-erases originals during encryption, but you can't set locations where encrypted documents should be stored. What's more, it includes options to securely remove any file from your PC, and you can set how many wipe passes it performs. Aside from algorithms, CryptoForge utilizes passphrases to further encrypt documents. The program caches the passphrases, though it can automatically or manually clear the cache. Even with the combination of four algorithms, it demonstrated good speed during encryption/decryption of entire folders. Beyond that, it has a built-in text editor that creates and offers to encrypt/decrypt plain texts. Unlike similar tools, it doesn't build self-decrypting files, so your recipients will need to install the program to decrypt files. CryptoForge makes a good choice for security-minded folks who need to keep their data secured.
