This parental control program monitors online activities and protects children from inappropriate content, but some features didn't materialize during analysis. Control Kids' functional interface is password protected to prevent others from modifying settings or uninstalling the program.
During testing, were able to create effective black lists to block unwanted sites and white lists to authorize others. Control Kids can also block unlisted sites by selecting categories such as sexually explicit or violence, though it lacks modifiable keyword blocking. The program displayed a blocked message when attempts were made to access such sites. This application records surfing activities and cleans your browser cache, cookies, and history. The option to prevent users from downloading files from the Internet comes in quite handy. However, we weren't able to capture any key loggers, and we received error messages while trying to save the logs. The program was unable to block most of the pop-ups we encountered as well. Control Kids only supports Internet Explorer, excluding other popular browsers like Mozilla, Opera, and Netscape. While some features worked pretty well, it isn't difficult to locate more comprehensive parental software.
