CoffeeCup Image Mapper has mouseover HTML capability, includes a fully functional image map wizard, and enables users to attach parts of an image to different links. Image Mapper can map any noninterlaced GIF, interlaced GIF, standard JPEG, and progressive JPEG, PNG as well as the first frame of an animated GIF. Users can choose from three different shape methods for mapping those hard-to-reach spots. Image Mapper includes WYSIWYG editing and online help, and now there are mouse-over pop-up tags for Netscape users as well.

"Overrated"

Pros: Opens files well. Nice interface.

Cons: BUGGY! If your making images with 20+ polygons that overlap in places or go side by side Coffee will grab the wrong points often no matter what i have selected. Even with max zoom(not enough) I click the correct point but get others.
There is no magic wand, insert point, or good html editing modes. If you click a polygon it doesn't even tell you what part of the html you are in for editing. You have to sift through the code or throw a point way off wack so you can spot it easily. lame....
This tool is for amateurs at best. The functions needed for detailed image mapping are missing; you could just do this crap in dreamweaver.

Version: CoffeeCup Image Mapper 4

"Another wonderful application from Coffee Cup"

Pros: It was very easy to use and editing the html was a breeze. I love it!

Cons: I made the map then used the "copy to clipboard" to copy it to my web site. If you do it this way, you'll have to remember to import the image file and change the url in the html.

"The tool worked but for basic jobs cost too much!"

Pros: It does what it says.

Cons: I like free, there are free ones online where you do not need software to map basic images.

Summary: I would rather use this <a href="http://image-mapper.mgwalk.com">Online Image Map Tool For Free</a> than have to pay and download/install software for jobs here and there. The free one is http://image-mapper.mgwalk.com
