Clipboard Magic is a freeware Windows Clipboard archiving tool. Any text copied to the Windows clipboard is automatically archived in Clipboard Magic. This text may be copied back to the clipboard with a click of the mouse. Text may also be edited and added manually. Clipboard lists may be saved to a file to be loaded later. Features include search and replace, drag and drop, clip management and serial paste hotkeys.

Version 4.0 adds clip list folders and clip dragging.

This simple clipboard manager adds only a few enhancements to the standard Windows version. Clipboard Magic doesn't quite live up to its name, providing only the most basic of clip-management tools. The program grabs Clipboard text items and lists them in a clean, simple interface. It doesn't save formatting or work with images. You can click a clip to edit it or manually add clips to the program, and save a group of clips to a file recognized only by the program or to a text file. You can use a shortcut to bring up the program, or you can opt to keep it on top, but you don't get hot keys for individual clips; you have to copy from the program, then paste as you normally would. Clipboard Magic doesn't have many tricks up its sleeve, and though anyone can use this freeware program, more flexible clip managers are available.

"Text only and no direct paste back"

Pros: Costs what its worth

Cons: 1. It only does text

2. To paste, you have to use a drop down menu, find copy to clipboard, then use Ctrl+V

"Its ok, good for my needs"

Pros: Fast, simple, easy to use

Cons: Cannot handle images, kept getting "list index out of bounds" error when dragging items
