Simple Start is for first-time QuickBooks users and can't import data from prior versions of QuickBooks Basic, Pro or Premier Editions, Quicken or Peachtree. Version 2008 lets users track thousands of customers and vendors and import data from Microsoft Excel 2000/2002/2003/2007.

  Pros: It does everything I need it for in a small business

  not pushy in trying to sell you the extras

  reports are easy and detail drilling is right at hand

  Beware - Registration required after 30 day trial

  Pros: looks good but only a limited period trial .. should NOT be in the Free Licence Section

  Cons: Beware users from outside the US.. Registration requires a call to Intuit in the States
