Version: CardRecovery 3.3
Pros: I had taken over 600 pictures during a week with teens running through "challenge courses". When I went to download the pictures, I had just over 200. The others were gone.
I first downloaded and tried BadCopy, but it didn't retrieve any files that I couldn't already see.
Then I downloaded and installed CardRecovery. As far as I can tell, it recovered all my pictures. It's well worth the cost.
It was very simple to use.
Cons: It's a bit slow, but since it worked, who cares?

Version: CardRecovery 3.3
Pros: This software is intuitive and pretty easy to use. I found myself returning from a long roadtrip for work with a lot of photos from various site inspections. Upon my return, most of the photos that I had taken had become mysteriously corrupted. After ejecting and reinserting the card to see if that would help, even more photos were corrupted. I tried many other photo and data recovery programs and none of them worked. This one found every last picture that had been unrecoverable as well as all of the photos that had been deleted from the card in the past--complete with the timestamps as well. It saved me a day's worth of work, rescheduling meetings to see the same properties again, and over a tank of gas. Easily worth the $40 that it cost me.
