Version: CardFile Pegasus 3.0
""old school" index card catalog nicely simple but too rigid for most purposes"
Pros: I was looking for a progam that resembled something from my childhood - back in the 80s the Apple IIE or IIG had a program called simply Index Cards or Recipe Cards, a little like stickies but you could view them like a rolodex. This is close to that - a nice, uncomplicated system that looks exactly like an index card file, with alphabetical tabs and everything. It registers information by keyword, subject and content and lists it in a database kind of list.
Cons: The bad part of this simple system is that it only alphabetizes by keyword, and when you change out tabs to another letter and go back, you can't see the "card" you just filled out - it goes straight to list style. Double clicking on the entry to edit the card on my Win XP resulted in an error, easily Ignored, but would eventually get annoying. I'm looking elsewhere for that dream program...
