Messenger for Mac 7 is an integrated communications client that enables you to communicate with contacts within and outside your organization. Messenger for Mac 7 is a Universal application that is built to run on both PowerPC-based and Intel-based Macs and makes it easy to take advantage of the full power of real-time communications.

Version 7 lets users customize their contact lists with personal nicknames, use Bonjour to find and locate other contacts in their area, and search for contacts in personal lists. Version 7.0.1 includes unspecified updates.

If you need a chat client to use exclusively with friends who use MSN Messenger, this app does the job, but doesn't offer much in the way of extra features. The tabbed interface makes it easy to organize your contacts into groups like Personal and Work, and sharing files is fairly painless.

One of our main issues with Microsoft Messenger is the lack of Webcam support which is almost a must have with many of the new Macs coming with an included Webcam. The sign-up process also makes you jump through several hoops to get set up. Overall, if you just want to chat with other users of MSN chat or Microsoft Messenger, this program will work. But if you want more features, like the ability to chat with multiple chat clients and Webcam support, you will need to look elsewhere.

  Pros: This is almost as good as the messenger I had for windows... not the same thing but everything with mac is a change, but the change is worth it

  Cons: Just that it's different from the windows version..the layout is completely different. But overall it's pretty good

  Pros: its cool to have messenger on mac

  Cons: but it needs more stuff added like the 1s that are in messenger 8.
