This screensaver brings the glitz and glamour of Sin City's bygone era to your computer screen. The program is set not on Las Vegas's famous strip, but in the downtown section, home of famous old-school casinos such as the Horseshoe and the Golden Nugget. In this night scene, the lit-up glory of Las Vegas serves as a backdrop for a rotating disco ball, exploding fireworks, and several scantily clad, gyrating showgirls. Although Las Vegas NightLife Screen Saver sets the right ambience with its multitude of flashing, multicolored lights, certain parts of the scene appear a bit blurry and pixelated. The MIDI theme music seems cheesy and inappropriate, so we opted to disable it almost immediately. Unfortunately, other customization options are noticeably absent. In spite of our grumbles, this program is free and contains no adware, making it a decent pick for anyone entranced by the allure of Las Vegas.
