Publisher's description of CD/DVD Inventory Tool
From Renaat Grauwels:You have a file or software package but you can't find it in your CD/DVD collection. This tool will solve your problem. It makes an inventory of your collection in a database and automatically generates medium-size ID labels for identification. You can add a note to each file or disk entry in the explorer, and with the search feature you can identify the CD/DVD you're looking for.

Version: CD/DVD Inventory Tool 1.3
Pros: None. I can't think of anyone who could find use out of this.
Cons: Where do I begin? Let's start with interface. If you're used to Windows 3.x standards of quality, you will be right at home here. It has no power and limited functionality. I can't even figure out what it's supposed to do other than keeping a grocery list of your DVDs for you, as though you couldn't do the same thing in Excel. The one benefit is that it's just an exe, so I didn't have to do the Add/Remove Programs shuffle; just DELETE. To get movies into your list, you have to put a single DVD into your DVD-ROM drive and the program adds your movie to your library based on what it reads in the volume label. I have a DVD where the label is incorrect (it says Highway Man instead of Wicked West); can I go in and change it? Nope. And how am I supposed to get the 300+ movies I own into this database. You can't import a list of movies that are in .xls or .csv spreadsheet files; you can only import other proprietary databases for this software (gee thanks). How can they charge money for this? You're better off entering your movies into Excel and waiting for the right program to import them all into. This is not that program. Are we clear? Move along to the next junior programmer's semester project. This one expired in 1996.

Version: CD/DVD Inventory Tool 1.3
"great cd cataloguing software"
Summary: I've tried numerous different cataloguing software, but none are as good as this. Some of the good points are single database file instead of one for each CD, and auto eject and scan feature making the initial job of cataloguing all your CDs faster.... read more >>

"Does what it says in description"
Summary: Nice little tool for creating inventory for your hard drive or CD (any volume you designate). Speed is OK, functionality is nothing fancy but effective - catalogue everything and allow you to search and identify what you need is on which disk. A c... read more >>
