Publisher's description of SiSoftware Sandra
From SiSoftware:SiSoftware Sandra is a 32- and 64-bit Windows system analyzer that includes benchmarking, testing and listing modules. It tries to go beyond other utilities to show you more of what is really going on under the hood so you draw comparisons at both a high and low-level in a single product. You can get information about the CPU, chipset, video adapter, ports, printers, sound card, memory, network, Windows internals, AGP, ODBC Connections, USB2.
Version XII SP2c is a bug fixing release.

- "Sandra tells all"
Getting detailed system information is easy with this program, but novice users may not understand all the data it provides.
SiSoftware Sandra's tabbed interface starts in the Home tab, which gives easy access to its various functions. In turn, each of the tabs includes numerous options. Fortunately, the demo version doesn't have a time limitation. Despite clearly-labeled functions, tooltips and the Help file, even 30 days wouldn't be long enough to explore everything this program offers. The main tabs include Tools, Benchmarks, Hardware and Software. Within the tab, you'll find the options listed in a tiled fashion, but you can switch the view to show more or less information. You can view comprehensive system information, including manufacturer and version information for hardware and running processes, and loaded DLLs for software.
Where applicable, the application gives you advice for improving system performance. Each of the modules follows the same basic steps, and shares common buttons for basic navigation and operation. Despite the simplicity of using this program and the plain language it uses, it's not for the novice. Users are expected to know what is meant by the advice to check whether the BIOS is shadowed or not. You can generate reports or save the information to the clipboard in most cases. Performance information can be uploaded to the SiSoftware Web site for comparison to other user's information.
Although many of the modules in the Software tab are disabled in the demo version, there's still plenty this program can tell intermediate to advanced users.

Version: SiSoftware Sandra XII SP2c
"Good Software, like Everest and SIW"
Pros: It gives Hardware Information and has much Benchmarking possibilities. It also gives information about installed software. There is also a free version available.
Cons: I like the gui from Everest and SIW much more. I don't want to click through the comboboxes. Another thing is, you have to install. For some features, you have to install a service.
