Version: BullGuard Spamfilter 8.0
Pros: Starts to filter spam almost immediately and gets better with training. Very effective.
Cons: Training is fiddly in Outlook as you need to import messages to Outlook Express or Windows Mail first then drag and drop them into the "training area".

"OK, Did not work with Thunderbird"
Cons: Did not work with Thunderbird email system. It is clear that the software was written with Ooulook in mind and that Thunderbird was a second thought.

"Sloooooooooowwwwed to a stop"
Pros: The techs get back to you quickly if you've an email query. They sent me the following advice:
After installing it, please follow this steps in order to make sure it is configured correctly:
1. Open BullGuard and go to the Spamfilter module > Overview tab.
2. Click on the "Reset spamfilter to default" option.
3. Select your email client and click on the "Settings" button.
4. In the new screen, enable all the 3 options, "Move to Spam folder as read", "Add emails you Block to your blacklist" and "Add emails you Unblock to your whitelist".
5. Click on OK and then open your email client.
6. Click on the WIZARD button from the BullGuard toolbar (inside your email client) and go through all the steps.
I didn't try them cos I got something else instead before it came.
Cons: I couldn't get it to work without it making my computer so slow I would have needed many lifetimes to check my mail. This because it conflicted with my other free anti-virus and firewall software. Uninstalled it and got cactus instead which worked fine from the start. No idea if the above advice would have made any diff.
