BrainForest is a comprehensive action item organizer, idea tracker, project planner, and checklist manager that uses a tree analogy to organize information into hierarchical and intuitive trees, branches, and leaves--a structure similar to the Outline function in Microsoft Word. It allows for complete customization of data views on any Palm Computing platform device or IBM WorkPad. Branches and leaves may be given a priority, start date, due date, and check box (or completion percentage), with the ability to have any item recur automatically. Information can be sorted in several flexible ways. Show/Hide options permit the display of all items or the selective display of only items that are due or urgent. Notes can be maintained for every item.

Version 2.2 includes support of Flash Memory; compatibility with Palm OS 3.5 and the forthcoming Palm OS 4.0; support of the Palm, Stowaway, and GoType keyboard; security enhancements; and support for the Palm OS Japanese.

"Solid Outliner with gantt line view for projects"

Pros: This is a solid product that has an intuitive UI. It has a gantt line view for projects and can export to OPML. The desktop module is a great addition.

Cons: No encryption capability yet.

"Hierarchal to-do list"

Summary: This app provides strong hierarchal list capability, something sorely missing from the PalmOS. If you are a "list" person (you know if you are or not), this is the killer app for your Palm!!!

"Great product, but get the desktop app"

Summary: This product is great for managing tasks and simple projects. Be sure to add the PC or Mac desktop version to the mobile version for maximum power. I also feel a keyboard is a requirement for the Palm.

"Keeps Me Focused"

Summary: Even after reading the manual, it took me a while to become disciplined enough to use this product. Now that I have, it has become one of the most essential business tools I use!
