BookReader

Ugly.

by: Hentaku1 on 20-Nov-2007 12:27:03 AM

Pros: Couldn't get past how ugly it was to test it.

Cons: Wow is this the epitome of ugly software. If that doesn't bother you, then i guess you should try it out.

Easy to use right out of the box!

by: thx1158 on 15-Aug-2007 09:10:47 PM

Pros: It has a simple intuitive interface that most other readers lack. This is how it should be done. Perhaps not perfect, but better than a dozen others I have tried. Excellent!

Cons: There is always room for improvement. Perhaps a way to skin it would be nice. Also, it likes to take up the whole screen and not show the task bar.

BookReader

Best I've used so far!

by: Steve on 11-Jun-2003 07:40:04 PM

I learned of this product watching "Screen Savers". I went to the program they talked about, Gutenberg Project I believe. They have K's of e-books searchable by author, genre etc. The reader itself is easy to use...even for an older person like me. Eye strain is not a problem and I love the auto scroll feature! Speed of scrolling can be adjusted to suit individual speed. On a whim I downloaded the voices as this program will read the book for you. My advise on the voices...DON'T. Of course my comp. is 4 years old and newer comps. may do better with the voices. Text was large and easy to read. If you're interested in a e-book reader I would highly recommend this one as a must try...I think you'll like it.
