Publisher's description of Bryce
Create breathtaking realistic 3D landscapes and animations with DAZ 3D Bryce. The easy user interface simplifies the design process for a novice or the seasoned professional. Start out building or importing a landscape as impressive as the Grand Canyon. Populate it with buildings, people or any other object you create or from the extensive DAZ 3D library. The Light Lab provides you robust control over your sunsets, moonlight nights or high-noon ambiance. Tree Lab allows you to plant your landscape like the gardens of Versailles. You'll have to register your copy of Bryce on the publishers web-site to gain access to your free Bryce serial number.
Note: This is a very large (123MB) file and may take several hours to download via dial-up modem.

Version: Bryce 5.5
Pros: Don't know.
Cons: Will not install. It seems that there is a conflict between download.com and DAZ somewhere. DAZ will not install the program without a code issued by download.com and download.com will not issue the code until the program is installed. Seems that someone needs to get their ducks lined up a little better If anyone can shed some light on what the problem is, I would appreciate that..

Version: Bryce 5.5
"Steady Progression for a much-traveled app"
Pros: Bryce just gets better and better, regardless of who has the ownership at any given time. Bryce will NEVER be the source of amazing 3D scenes for movies and tv but it will ALWAYS be the tool of choice for creating one-off masterpieces.
It's FREE!
Cons: the interface goes it's own way which works most of the time but has some strange quirks.
model import capabilities could be expanded.

Version: Bryce 5.5
Pros: It's very easy to work with, all the functions are explained well. It's something a novice could learn to work with very easily!
Cons: Sometimes I can't do what i would like to, but that's mostly self inflicted, too lazy to read up on it! I do have the problem of creating the illusion of distance, don't know if i don't undertand the program but no on has been adequately explain it yet.

"Bryce registration not working as of June 1, 2008"
Pros: Looks Awesome but can't even review it.
Cons: Requires a registration to be retrieved from their site dax3d's site before getting to use the software and the site redirects you to one of those website listers of banners and ads. No software registration, no Bryce site period.
Maybe they are just temporarily down. I'll keep trying and if it becomes available again, I'll change my rating. As of now, the software is useless and was just plugged by download news here on cnet which is what made me interested in checking it out.
Disappointing.
