It's not going to win any design awards, but BitMeter 2, a program for monitoring your PC's bandwidth usage, offers a nice set of features. BitMeter 2's floating graph with simple text displays for real-time downloads and uploads is easy to follow. You can customize the display's color and transparency.

Considering its size, BitMeter 2 provides an impressive amount of options and information. You can view summaries of network activity with hourly, daily, and monthly breakdowns, or receive audio notifications that can be set by transfer size and direction. The built-in calculator is useful for computing the speed and size of download and upload activities. You can create automatic or manual backups of the program to easily restore history and settings, and there's an ISP Restrictions configuration panel that can configured with a minimum of hassle.

So far so good, but i still have to wait and see just how accurate the data monitoring actually is.Two or three months of use should be enough time to gauge it.

Set up was easy and I am no computer whiz kid. Based on the activities going on with my computer the data presented seems to be accurate with an easy to use interface. Prior to installing this usage meter I had installed and deleted several other meters from this site in the previous few hours. They presented usage numbers that made no sense based on what I was doing. This usage meter I am keeping!

Tells me everything I wanted to know about what my browser habit's add up too. Small footprint program. Works well as an icon in the notification area. Works just fine on my 64 bit win 7 (I believe I needed to grant it admin rights (to the opening reviewer I say that too)) I wish I could write a program so cool

Appears to have all of the right features, and installed easily on my computer.
Cons
On my computer, all I end up with is an animated graph with no labeling of either the x or y axis. The menu pops up over the graph on an odd, faded way, but can not be accessed by either mouse or keyboard. I uninstalled it.
Summary
I wish it worked on my computer. It looks like a nifty little utility.
