The world of Wesnoth is absolutely huge and limited only by your creativity - make your own custom units, compose your own maps, and write your own scenarios or even full-blown campaigns. You can also challenge up to 8 friends - or strangers - and fight in epic multi-player fantasy battles. Version 1.4.3 includes minor enhancements and bug fixes.

This open-source, turn-based strategy game is fun once you learn the basics, although it can be a bit choppy compared to most modern games. The object is to build a hero and strategically use your units to attack the enemy and conquer villages as you follow your quest. The story line is interesting and provides a nice backdrop to the game play which can get confusing once several units on both sides enter into the fray. The two-dimensional graphics are just passable, and the sounds aren't very advanced, but as a free game with large quests and multiplayer capabilities, it's hard to focus on these drawbacks. Overall, we think this game makes up for its graphical shortcomings with solid game play and tons of replay value. With customizable units and multiplayer capabilities, Battle for Wesnoth has plenty to offer anyone interested in strategy gaming.

  "I like to play it. All the time is a great fun."

  Pros: Different stages, different difficulties. Many playgrounds.

  Cons: Sometime not able to download files. The old games not compatible with new ones.
