Audiograbber

Absolutely Awesome

by: ZZ-Top-Man on 31-Jan-2005 09:47:25 PM

Pros: I have used this program for years. I have not had a problem with it. It is by far the best CD ripper I have used. It has all the right stuff. I am not a tech when it comes to CD ripping, I just want it to rip what I want, how I want and where I want it to go and this one does the best job fo them all. After you get over the hurdle of downloading the "Lame" encoder and putting it in the Audiograbber folder you never have to mess with it again. I really like the way I can start the rip anywhere in the song and end it anywhere I want. I can cut out any intro or outro junk I don't want with its start time and end times. I like the VU meter it has and the normalizing feature. Its really a great program.

Cons: Its just that you have to read the "help"

files to find out how to get it to rip to MP3. You have to go and download the "Lame" encoder then extract it to the

program folder. Why can't they just put it in the program if its all free anyway?

Audiograbber

The best ? Probably...

by: tazio1968 on 05-May-2006 11:26:26 AM

Pros: The program is simple to use for whoever has a minimum of practice with an audio ripper and it is one of the best - if not the best - what I have tried. Moreover it's translated in many languages, and this is a plus not to underestimate, especially if you have some problem with the English... like me ;-))

Cons: Audiograbber need to separately download the Lame codec and to manually copy it in the folder of the program, but this is a really meaningless problem.

Audiograbber

better than any other ripper I've used

by: martinw1200 on 18-Apr-2005 07:58:54 AM

Pros: This is a very sophisticated program. It's better than the rippers that cost money. They even did a great job on the help files. They explain everything the program does. And it does a lot. I will go so far as to say that this program is actually fun to use.

Audiograbber

Probably my favorite ripper, overall...

by: Cheapster on 25-Mar-2005 06:36:59 AM

Pros: AudioGrabber is pretty small and fast, and has given me some very good results. The configuration options and comprehensive set of tools are very handy. Editing tracks, ripping just portions of them or combining tracks, is easy and accurate. AudioGrabber can build track lists from CD-text info, as well as from reedb. File naming conventions and folder management are easy to set. Setting up the program to use compatible external converters is fairly easy. Analog recording from a mic or line input is possible, and can even be scheduled via a timer.

Cons: The user must download and install the LAME MP3 codec separately. That feature is fairly well documented on the AudioGrabber website, but might be a bit confusing to novices.

Audiograbber

Perfect

by: jugaor on 02-Apr-2006 06:32:17 PM

Pros: AG is a MUST!

I've been using it for years, it's better than any other ripper I tested (commercial or free).

It's small & fast, has a clean interface, many options (freedb support, volume normalization, customizable bitrates, folder+filename formatting...) and, as opposed to other apps, runs w/o problems in slow systems even with Windows 98.

Thanks a lot, guys!

Cons: None
