In general, this CD-ripping application seems to work OK, but we noticed a couple of performance flaws. The program's interface mimics others in its class, although some users may initially find it offputting that the icon for starting the ripping process is actually labeled Grab. Audio CD Ripper Pro had no problems retrieving track information from the Web, although it doesn't do so automatically. Though you can of course configure the bit rate of your compressed audio tracks and even use the VBR method, the program can only output files in the MP3 and OGG formats. Most of the time, this utility worked well and showed good speed, but in a couple of cases, it curiously refused to rip certain songs and returned an error message. Also, we never successfully got the built-in audio player to work. Since CD rippers come a dime a dozen, we don't think this one is the most compelling choice in its current form.
