Editor's review of Arlington Custom Browser
Business owners, kiosk operators, employee orientation directors, and more will find plenty to like in this browser that locks to prevent unwanted changes.
Arlington Custom Browser offers an attractive, uncluttered interface with a viewing pane that includes a minimal number of essential buttons located in the top bar of its frame that you may customize to suit your needs. The app arrives preloaded with some example sites, including some universities, a retail kiosk, a museum, and a public aquarium, that demonstrate its versatility and use in lockdown mode.
We were pleased to see the detailed and easy-to-comprehend user manual that accompanied the browser as a PDF file. It provided excellent directions for customizing the browsers appearance and setting up the lockdown mode. Further, we found its tabbed dialog boxes for configuring the browser's features very clearly designed, and we didn't even need to refer to the manual to quickly alter its settings. Although the publisher doesn't list Vista as a compatible OS, we tested it under that version of Windows and saw no performance problems.
Anyone needing a browser that can be locked down will find Arlington Custom Browser a robust solution. The demo period is generous; while the price may initially seem steep in a world full of free browsers, determining how the Arlington Custom Browser can serve your business may lead you to a surprising return on investment.
