Publisher's description of All Sound Recorder XP
From Mp3do:
All Sound Recorder XP enables you to record sound and play it back through your sound card or any other source, such as a microphone, a VCR, a line-in jack, a telephone, a data CD, a DVD, or an audiocassette player. You can grab any sound, including music, movie dialog, and game audio, from your computer or from the Internet. Captured sounds can be saved in WAV, MP3, WMA, or OGG formats using real-time conversion. The program offers direct support for RealPlayer, Winamp, Windows Media Player, PowerDVD, Flash, and QuickTime. All Sound Recorder XP also supports sound-data active-recording-mode technology; when you play sound from the Internet, it often pauses, but All Sound Recorder XP will pause recording until play continues.
Version 2.28 fix name rule settings bug and improves wizard function.

Editor's review of All Sound Recorder XP
This utility adds some useful features to the standard Windows Sound Recorder. For one, All Sound Recorder XP adds volume control. For another, it records directly into formats other than WAV, such as MP3, OGG, and WMA. It also lets you record streaming audio or voice into compact files. We found the automatic naming of recorded files useful. To avoid recording silence, the recorder comes on only when there's sound. You can set the timer to stop recording after a specified interval, or you can use the full-blown schedule to record your favorite streaming audio shows while you're away. The bundled sound editor can handle simple edits such as fade-outs or cropping, and it can apply effects such as vibrato, flange, and delay. Though the interface is attractive, it's also quite small and somewhat patchy; for instance, file information is cropped when you use larger system fonts. Also, All Sound Recorder XP often hangs when other programs are running and only offers a short, two-minute recording trial. Home users who dabble in audio may enjoy this program, but aficionados can keep looking.

All Sound Recorder XP
lousy product and lousier customer service
by: chingalia
on 17-Nov-2007 05:44:09 PM
Pros: .
Cons: I purchased the product because they offered a 30 day refund. I bought the software, installed it and could not get anything to work. All i got were error messages. When I tried to access the online help I received the message
'cannot find website'. After hours of frustration I emailed the company expressing my disapproval and requested a refund. 7 DAYS later I was sent an email telling me to download a newer virsion. I replied sating that I didn't want their product and expected my refund. They charged me any way,
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT OR AY SOFTWARE FROM THIS COMPANY.AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THEY ARE CROOKS.

All Sound Recorder XP
Decent Product, Lousy Support and Custimer Service

Pros: Does the job fairly well. A plain-Jane and simple tool. Good for quick jobs that do not require any subtle manipulation -- i.e., a raw recorder.
Cons: Beware: If you attempt to install this on a new PC, you will be required to pay for it again... Customer Service will "forget" that you are a customer and you will then only be able to reinstall by repurchasing. Not recommended.

All Sound Recorder XP
Not good

on 14-Jun-2007 03:07:13 AM
Pros: Does the job ... but ...
Cons: Only works for 2 minutes until you pay.
Don't buy this is you need to use it straight-away. You have to wait up to 24 hours for your serial.
Customer service would seem to be non-existent.
