Version: tazti Speech Recognition Software for Windows XP 1.1
Pros: Easy to use and even with my cheap microphone still getting good results. Possible to add custom commmands to open specific webpages or start programs. Understands commands like for example "click" and "double click" as well.
Cons: Be aware that when you agree to install, you also will be getting updates and changes to the software. Most likely meaning that this will not stay free forever. Better give it a try now!

Version: tazti Speech Recognition Software for Windows XP 1.1
"It's pretty cool - much better than I expected!"
Pros: It installed faster than any speech recognition software I've played with. It's really easy to use! The recognition was much better than I expected - and much better than anything one would expect from free software (!) I liked controlling iTunes, searching my bookmarks, and searching Google, eBay, and especially Wikipedia (which I use a lot!) They have a good video on their website that explains how it works. It's only three minutes - but it shows exactly how it works.
Cons: It's not dicatation software, so don't expect to be dictating directly to word using the software. Not really a con, but it does take about 15 minutes of training to bring it up to speed - about the same or better than some of the expensive speech recogntion software out there. Waiting for them to add a module that lets me controller my toaster oven with tazti! ;)

"Remarkable Speech Recognition Performance"
Pros: East to install. Easy to use. Really works. Great speech recognition performance. Lets me navigate around Facebook & MySpace. Lets me control my iTunes software on my notebook PC when I'm at the cafe. Voice searches all of the important search engines and web sites. Lets me create my own speech commands, even for my bookmarks. In the top 25% of best freeware/shareware I've used. Also they have a vista version that I tried. It works great too.
Cons: The only way it could be better is if they had full on dictation into Microsoft word. But that's not their bag. They are into web navigation and productivity. Also their XP version needs about 20 minutes of training... but the results were well worth my time. Those two reason are why they are a 4. But their product works like a 5. What the..., I'm changing it to a 5. I also tried their Vista version and it requires less training and works great also.
