  If you are looking for a simple scale display and chord pattern display, it's not bad.

  The chord patterns are a little limited. I would have like to hear what the chords and scales sounded like.

  Very customizable. I was worried about the availability of a left-handed fretboard. There is no left-right option but it's not needed. <p> <p> There is plenty of free content at the website - stuff for sale, too. <p> <p> Boring? What would you recommend to make note/chord recognition exciting? Lasers picks to shoot the correct note/chord icons with? :-)

  first thanks to tabguitarlessons.com for making this program FREE. I think more software should be free. Fretpro helps you learn the guitar in an entertaining way. It's fretboard game is addictive and makes you want to play over and over to beat your best time and best average response rate. It's really frustrating when you are stuck on a note and watch the time ticking on! - You just HAVE to have another go. All that time you are learning more and more about the notes on the fretboard. There's a load of other free stuff on their site too which doesn't appear to be mentioned here.
