Publisher's description of Advanced Directory Comparison and Synchronization
ADCS is designed for keeping files synchronized between a desktop & laptop or between multiple drives on you desktop and is a very fast method of backing up critical directories. With ADCS you can see what have changed in your directories and transfer changes with single mouse click. File size, time/date stamp, and attributes are prominently shown, along with color-coded arrows clearly marking the status of each file involved in the comparison.
You can apply filespec filters, copy selected files to a third folder, and execute synchronizations with a single mouse-click. Other features include directories recursion, multi-directories comparison, .csv and HTML-based comparison reports, disk space viewer, custom sorting. Version 1.21 fixed a few bugs which can affect Vista users.

Version: Advanced Directory Comparison and Synchronization 1.21
"Intuitive, simple to use and fast"
Pros: I had been looking around for a good directory sync took, and I saw the ADCS reviews, and downloaded it to try it.
ADCS is so simple to use, has an intuitive user interface, and it is blazingly fast in directory/sub-directory comparisons. Previously I had tried to keep my external USB storage drives in sync using what I called uh... "manual asynchronous mirroring". In otherwords, painful file explorer copies.
In under an hour I had my three large external USB drives in sync (pictures, music, office files, etc., including the time for "Reading The Furnished Manual" user guide).
This is one of the best SW tools I own.

Version: Advanced Directory Comparison and Synchronization 1.21
"It's so great, I'd feel guilty if I hadn't paid for it"
Pros: I've been using various versions of this program for about 2 years and it has absolutely saved my sanity. It's one of those programs that is fairly simple and straightforward for beginners, but also offers complex synchronization strategies for more advanced users. If you are trying to maintain duplicate copies of files between your home and work computers, or flash or external hard drives, don't let your head explode trying to figure out which files have been updated most recently, this program will do that for you and update the old file accordingly. The feature I love most about it is that you have complete control over which files get copied or updated - it tells you ever step of the way what will be copied, in which direction, and what will be overwritten (this is the part that offers the most customization options). The program works with any storage device attached to your computer - usb flash drives, external hard drives, and I have also been able to use it on two different local networks to update my files stored on the server. My purchased copy of this program also came with a lifetime upgrade, which I've taken advantage of for the past several upgrades. Great little program and highly recommended for everyone.
Cons: There are 3 main buttons that one ends up using over and over for selection of directories and synchronization activities. It would be nice to see those particular buttons more prominently displayed in the program (particularly for novice users).
