Version: Adobe Reader 9
Pros: Is big and thorough, or so I hear
Cons: Too big, but unable to try it as it won't download, probably because my version 9 is stuck and unremovable. Come to think of it, that may be a good reason not to replace with more adobe.
Summary: I did download the Foxit reader but still unable to get Adobe Flash to work; therefore no clips or videos. Still have no idea why Adobe XX and XX##*p quit working as before, or how to get rid of them to make room for replacements.Any advice would be... read more

Version: Adobe Reader 9
"Version 7 is great, v8 bad, v9 bloated"
Pros: Pros = Free
Cons: Cons = Ridiculous. This program is beyond huge, and for what?. For the average user, reading a PDF, this is unnecessary. Maybe it won't lock up like v8?
Summary: Save yourself a lot of heartache and frustration, and stick with a reliable and compatible version like v7. read more

"Adobe's overblown ego and bloatware"
Pros: Simple program, after that is all goes downhill.
Cons: Companies like Adobe have an oversized ego and try to get into everything on your computer. Hog resources, start up files, as bad a s a virus.
Summary: The idea of a PDF reader is great, but no longer by the company that invented it/made it famous. This monster of a program is nothing but bloatware rivaling some of Microsoft's worst. It is evident once you install anything from Adobe, this company h... read more

Pros: Not a thing
Cons: Snuck a registry change to the registry to keep the message center loaded at all times. Deletion doesn't help, it puts it right back
Summary: It sneaks in via a back door (that I'm still looking for) to pester and annoy me at every boot up. Can't find any documentation on how to stop it. I used CCleaner to remove the Registry entry, and it comes right back again. If I don't find it, it'... read more
