From Adobe Systems:

This plug-in enhances the reliability of Adobe Photoshop 7.0.x software running on a Mac OS X system that uses the G4 processor. It does not replace the AltiVecCore plug-in installed in the Plug-Ins:Adobe Photoshop Only:Extensions folder. Both the AltiVecCore and AltiVecCore Update plug-ins should be present in that folder for optimum performance on the G4 processor. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
