This capable ad-blocker stops many forms of advertisements, although we found one pretty big caveat. AdSubract Pro stops banner ads, pop-ups, Flash ads, Web page animations, background sounds, and cookies. The unique Search Sanity feature eliminates paid search results from engines such as Google or Yahoo. The program baosts an attractive skinnable control panel and appears as an Internet Explorer toolbar, complete with statistics. As a bonus, AdSubract Pro can clean up your surfing history and several Windows system areas, but this feature doesn't function with alternative browsers. Other, more standard features include a whitelist and the ability to associate different sounds with different types of ads. Though that all sounds good, AdSubract Pro forces you to relinquish your e-mail address to use it. Worse still, you cannot opt out of the mandatory newsletters from directly within the installation screen. This utility certainly delivers a fine feature set and solid performance, but the unwanted e-mails may cause some users to look elsewhere.

  Pros: superb 2 thumbs up. if u go to bad sites or jsut want all ur history ereased this is the program. this will even clear the google search history andf many other search engine sites. i highly recomend this and other tren\intermute products.

  AdSubtract Pro

  New AdSub Ver 3 is Junk-Ware!

  Pros: Previous versions of AdSubtract were great, performing as advertised.

  Cons: After purchase, the trail version of AdSubtract will not activate, remaining on trail status and then going dead after 30 days. (Online buyers have to download trail versions...which supposedly can be 'activated' after purchase...but won't activate.)

  Tech support is very poor: only emails that provide 'form' answers that do not solve the problem.

  After purchasing AdSubtract OVER 30 DAYS AGO, the product still will not activate. And the manufacturer will NOT issue a refund.

  WARNING...Intermute turned a great product into Junk-ware!

  Good while it lasted.

  Pros: AdSubract was a good program. I relied on it for five years.

  Cons: Unfortunately, Intermute was purchased by TrendMicro, who has discontinued all Intermute products, and offers nothing similar to AdSubtract. I found SuperAdBlocker right here on CNET, and it works well as an AdSubtract replacement for me.

  Good program. LOUSY (useless, irrelevant, and non-performing) "support"

  Pros: This program is great for saving the cookies you want and deleting the ones you don't want. It prevents pop-ups and is customizable so I can still access most wanted pop-ups (e.g., from the bank or retail sites and other sites where there are legitmate windows opened).

  It is the best on cookie controller and pop-up prevention I have found on the market over several years.

  For a long time, I posted gratuitous, enthusiastic reports on all my lists and groups and gave Intermute great PR because I so like the product. I

  It has been crucial to my browsing on every computer ever since it came out. And it is a MUST HAVE for me.

  Cons: Customer service is a waste of time--I will not buy a product from Trend Micro again. I consider them to be dishonest and guilty of nonfeasance and misfeasance and probably malfeasance.

  Don't waste your time writing to them. The only responses the computer (even though signed by a "name") are based on any familiar word they find in the email. In 12 e-mails, (including to the "supervisor") not one single one addressed the updating activation problem I stated and asked about. Repeated requests and rewording gave me only the same useless and irrelevant responses. Because of their refusal to stand behind the purchase agreement with Intermute and refusal to respond with any useful help, I had to pay again, because Trend Micro refuses to give any help. Good Program requires good, honest management to back it up.

  AdSubtract Pro

  Waste of time

  Pros: Easy right click removal of most ads. Good clean up feature. Good cookie blocker.

  Cons: At first use, it seems like a great program. However, 1)common ads with names like banner, promo, and sponsor slip by.

  2)blocking an ad only blocks it from that page, it will reappear on other pages where the ad appears. 3)Once in the block list, it reappears 10% of the time and repeated adds to block list are useless. 4) sometimes have to reset proxy connections for it to work. 5)popups slip by from usa today, popsci, sciam.com

  6) block search ads blocks entire yahoo page 7)no online support forum to post these problems.

  I reccomend Ad annihilator. Adsubtract would make a good 2nd blocker due to the right click feature.
